“The women’s house”

by Mélisa Godet, drama, 1 hour 50 minutes. In theaters.

We are no one’s priority. We must become inevitable! » Dr. Diane Khoury addresses her team. Gathered around them are reception, listening and care professionals who receive women victims of violence in a pilot structure to help them rebuild their lives.

According to patients, they “change their lives for the better”. However, they will have to lead an additional fight: to make the usefulness of their Women’s House, threatened with closure, heard so that it continues. This first feature film by Mélisa Godet is based on the history of this establishment in Saint-Denis founded in 2016 by Dr Ghada Hatem. Served by a choice cast (from Karin Viard, Laetitia Dosch, Eye Haïdara to the actresses playing the patients), it finely weaves the commitment of healthcare personnel and their intimate trajectories, but also tragedy and humor. What emerges is a contagious energy.
