“I get into the heads of my opponents”

“I get into the heads of my opponents”

“Before each match, we watch three collective video sessions to identify the strong and weak points of our opponents. But I also watch matches: it fascinates me to get inside their heads in order to be ready for all their actions. For example, last November 2, my Nantes club was opposed to Nancy. At the end of the fourth set, we are feverish in reception. I’m on the right wing of the field and I’m convinced that the waitress is going to target our left wing. The moment the ball leaves my opponent’s hands, I run towards my teammate, I make the headlines in her place and we score a decisive point which allows us to win the game 3-1.

At a higher level, European or world, the girls are capable of attempting moves that I had not anticipated. I have to constantly adjust to them, change my position in defense… Facing champions like Eda Dündar, the captain of the Turkish club Fenerbahçe, an incredible player who even has her statue in Istanbul, I am totally in the present moment to give everything. It’s an honor for me to face him. »
