“I would like to live in the mountains for a year”: our advice
The point of view of Blanche de Richemont, travel writer
Dear Viviane, if you cherish a dream, live it. Walking the Alps for a year is a magnificent project that will allow you to experience the time of the soul. In the past, in India, Brahmins (the caste of priests) isolated themselves in cabins during retirement in order to concentrate on being after having only been in doing. In retirement, we withdraw to fulfill ourselves. Your desire to live fifteen days a month in the mountains for a year serves this purpose.
On the other hand, I can’t tell you what to expect, because even when you expect something, something else happens. And if what we have prepared for happens, when we experience it, it is always the unknown. Don’t expect anything, let yourself be surprised by your dream. Buried, visceral fears, new or old, will not fail to come and grab you. Accept them, because they will manifest to be transformed.
Every dream has its crossing of the desert. But whatever happens, you will be carried by a higher aspiration: to experience the four seasons in the peaks.
