Our 4 tips to put your money green
1st advice: assess your bank (even if it means changing it)
The four largest French banks (Société Générale, BNP, Crédit Agricole and BPCE) have granted more than 60 billion euros to the expansion of fossil fuels since 2021, while the objective of global warming stabilized to + 1.5 ° C requires to give it up.
In order to make sure that your money is working for the climate and not against him, go to the “Change Banque” site piloted by the Reclaim Finance association. Each bank is classified according to its ecological commitment. Alternatives are offered and explained.
2nd advice: take an interest in life insurance
It is the first savings product of the French. The life insurance contract is based on two additional solutions: a fund in euros with guaranteed capital (the individual has no choice of investments, and this fund cannot be labeled) and/or an account unit, that is to say a portfolio of investment funds chosen by the individual, but whose capital is not guaranteed.
Favor if you can unit account rather than the fund in euros, to enclose investments towards labeled assets. Or, simpler, choose a virtuous insurer: green-pole, goodvest…

3rd Advice: Invest for the climate
In France, three labels evaluate the ecological and social commitment of the various banking and financial products: LABELS ISR and GREENFIN (which exclude any funding from fossil expansion) and Finansol (which supports solidarity companies). So, if you want to make your savings grow by placing it in investment funds, make sure they have one of these labels.
4th Advice: question your advisor
Do not hesitate to meet your bank advisor to ask him to detail the products in which your bank is investing. Show your disagreement if necessary and share your requirements are a way to participate in the evolution of practices. If you choose to move all or part of your savings in another establishment, let you know the reasons, for your choice to have an impact.
