Pope Francis confirms his visit to Corsica on December 15
The rumor has been roaming the streets of Ajaccio (Southern Corsica) for several weeks. Pope Francis confirmed his visit to Corsica on December 15, according to our colleagues at Paris-Match: “”I will come to Corsica, in theory on December 15, that’s the plan,” the sovereign pontiff reportedly declared to one to report to them.
On Tuesday, November 5, an official request was sent to France. The Holy Father will thus participate in the closing of the conference on “Popular Religiosity in the Mediterranean” organized by the diocese. These two days dedicated to popular religious traditions in the Mediterranean include meeting times at the Hotel Campo dell’Oro.
A closing mass is planned for Sunday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame-de l’Assomption Cathedral, in Ajaccio. If his health allows it, Francis could celebrate it.
