“Supporting victims is overwhelming”

Can you introduce us to the character of Laura Stern, who you play?

She is a pharmacist who founded an association to help women victims of violence. One day, a feminicide takes place before his eyes. She decides to act by responding to hatred with hatred. It’s a tough and tough role.

How did you approach it?

On the set, we were supported by women from the Inform’elles association. They listen to and support victims on a daily basis, it’s a heartbreaking job. I didn’t have to do anything, apart from receiving and experiencing their commitment, to fit into reality.

The place that inspires you to revise your texts?

Trains. I like working in a hurry. It’s less intellectual, more instinctive.

The last time you laughed?

In a decoration store with a saleswoman. I was looking for fabrics to redecorate my apartment. I was completely lost and overwhelmed by all these choices. Finally, I opted for green velvet!

What will you never tire of looking at?

Scenes of life in the Luxembourg Gardens, in Paris. When my children were little, we ate ice cream while watching our grandpas play pétanque.

The person you are most grateful for?

My grandfather. As a child, I sewed figurines from his old t-shirts. My grandmother didn’t understand, she got angry. He replied: “But let her do it!” It’s a phrase that has stuck with me.

A good plan to reconnect with nature?

Sleep with the windows open. I love the sound of birds, insects and, sometimes, the depth of silence.

A spiritual place that you love?

The temples of Jaipur, India. I have been there several times and will return. There is harmony between the faithful and the places, as well as a lot of softness and colors. Such beauty that I felt divine.

A guardian angel on your shoulder?

Nana, my next-door neighbor with whom I lived when my boy was seriously ill. She carried me and, despite her passing three years ago, she is with me every day.

You are offered immortality. Do you sign?

It all depends on the terms of the contract (Laughs). You have to check with my agent!
