these cities to follow in the second round

Paris

Will Rachida Dati (Right Union List) manage to bring together supporters of alternation around her name? Nothing is less certain as the first round ended for her in disappointment (25.46% of the votes) and with the qualification of Pierre-Yves Bournazel (Horizons, 11.34%) and Sarah Knafo (Reconquête, 10.40%).

According to information from Parisianconfirmed by BFM TVhis list merged this Monday evening with that of the candidate Horizons for the second round of municipal elections.

On the left, Emmanuel Grégoire finished with a good lead (37.98% of the votes) but will have to deal with the presence of the rebellious list of Sophia Chikirou (11.72%).

Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône)

The National Rally has never been closer to ruling the country’s second city. The outgoing left-wing mayor, Benoît Payan (36.70% of the vote), and the RN candidate, Franck Allisio (35.02%), are neck and neck.

The fate of Marseille will depend on the choice of voters of the two other candidates qualified for the second round, the right and center candidate Martine Vassal (12.41%) and the Insoumis Sébastien Delogu (11.94%).

Toulouse (Haute-Garonne)

When realism prevails… While the Socialist Party assured that there would be no union with La France insoumise, the candidates François Piquemal (LFI, 27.56% of the vote) and François Briançon (union of the left, 24.99%) announced on Monday morning the merger of their lists. Objective: beat the outgoing mayor, the diverse-right Jean-Luc Moudenc (37.23%).

Nice (Alpes-Maritimes)

Once very close, Éric Ciotti (UDR-RN, 43.43% of the vote) and outgoing mayor Christian Estrosi (30.92%) are both qualified for next Sunday’s election. If the first enjoys a clear lead, he only has a small reserve of votes.

The outgoing mayor will not be able to claim to be alone against the far-right, the left-wing candidate, Juliette Chesnel-Le Roux (11.93%), maintaining his list.

Reims (Marne)

With 43.8% of the votes, outgoing mayor Arnaud Robinet (Horizons – Divers right) seems on track for a third term. This is without counting the merger announced on Monday March 16, 2026 of the lists of the National Rally of Anne-Sophie Frigout (coming in second place with 21%) and Stéphane Lang (LR). Coming 4th with 7.68%, the list carried by the former deputy mayor was not qualified for the second round.

Stéphane Lang therefore joins the new list carried by Anne-Sophie Frigout, as No. 2 with five of his running mates.
