“We get out of everything thanks to humor”
Would you be nostalgic? You are releasing an album dedicated to seventies.
I realized that I was very happy at that time. I was very little and I felt an atmosphere of freedom and creation.
One of the songs is a beautiful declaration of love to your mother…
Yes, it’s about time!
I got here thanks to her and I wanted to talk about her fight to raise us. My father was failing. It is our mothers who make us strong. Their love is the backbone of our lives.
The person who meant the most in your family?
My grandfather. He took my father’s place. He was handsome, he looked like Vittorio Gassman. He told me stories from the past, I always wanted to be near him. It was he who detected my passion for music and, on my 14th birthday, he gave me a guitar.
Your latest culture favorite?
The movie Mr Aznavour. This man has always supported me and I find in this film a beautiful picture of his life. He, the little emigrant who started from nothing, whose parents fled the Armenian genocide, even won over the American public!
A place that inspires you to create?
Paris ! I love this city with mad love, the Latin Quarter in particular.
I have always lived in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and I feel the presence of the great minds who populated these streets.
A place where you can reconnect with nature?
The ocean, whatever the weather.
Which beauty will save the world?
That of my children. When I look at them, I tell myself that everything is not so bad. They give me a lot of hope.
A quality that you would be proud to pass on to them?
Humor. We never get angry thanks to humor.
A book that accompanies you?
The Bible, which I reread often. The greatest adventure novel ever. And if these writings have managed to survive the centuries, it is because they contain an element of truth.
Would you sign for eternal life?
Certainly not.
We all have a mission to accomplish on Earth and it is about doing everything we can to do it in the time allotted to us.
