Death of Pope Francis: four significant texts
To mark the tenth anniversary of his pontificate, Le Pèlerin returns in video to four of these significant texts. Since his election on March 13, 2013, Pope Francis has published three encyclicals and five apostolic exhortations.
In 2015, the encyclical Laudato si’ (Praise be to you) advocated the protection of the Earth, our “common home”, in the face of global warming, and lastingly colored the pontificate of the Argentine pope. The apostolic exhortation on the family, Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love) appeared in 2016. Finally, in 2020, two texts followed one another: the first, Querida Amazonia (Beloved Amazon), an apostolic exhortation following the synod on the Amazon in October 2019; the second, Fratelli tutti (All Brothers), an encyclical launching a vibrant appeal to fraternity.
