Discover the crèche chosen for the reopening of Notre-Dame in December 2024
A magnificent 18th-century nativity scene, made in the Neapolitan tradition, will be on display at Notre-Dame de Paris when it reopens on December 8, 2024, according to the official Vatican News website. It is currently on display at the Saint-Louis-des-Français church in Rome. Its numerous figurines with heads modeled in terracotta, dressed in rich fabrics, as well as its painted decorations were gradually brought together by the Italian art critic and artistic director Alberto Ravaglioli, recently deceased. It was a close friend of the collector who proposed to the diocese of Paris to host the figurines for the next Christmas.
