Emmanuel Macron will visit the cathedral construction site for the last time on Friday
The promise to have Notre-Dame de Paris rebuilt in five years after the fire of April 15, 2019 led Emmanuel Macron to get personally involved. On November 29, 2024, he will visit the cathedral for the eighth time. The President will be followed by the France 2 cameras, live at 9:30 a.m., during a special edition which will reveal in preview the wonders of the restored building. A way of claiming one’s place in front of Archbishop Mgr Laurent Ulrich, who insisted on respecting the reopening rite planned by the Catholic Church on December 7. That day, Emmanuel Macron, representing the State, owner of the cathedral, will speak on the square in front of an audience of officials from donor countries and major patrons. The archbishop will strike the great portal of Notre-Dame with his crosier and enter alone for the revival of the organ.
The next day, Sunday December 8 at 10:30 a.m., the mass of consecration of the altar will take place. The President will attend but will not speak.
