Love, faith, old age, death… what Sister Emmanuelle confided to the Pilgrim before her death
In 2008, our former editor-in-chief, Paula Boyer, had the privilege of meeting Sister Emmanuelle, some time before her death at age 99. During this interview, in the privacy of her small room, in a retirement home in Callian (Var), the little sister of the poor revealed herself.
She agreed to look back on her commitment to the poor and on the difficult moments of her life, notably her long period of doubt.
She spoke of the importance of prayer in her retired life, and said she was not afraid of death.
We selected the best quotes from Sister Emmanuelletaken from this interview, by theme.
