“Love, without expecting anything in return”
As the Fête de la Musique approaches, the radio host hosting rock and pop stars shares his musical passions and his humanism with us.
You co-wrote 60 years of pop music. Make our mouths water…
This book is a journey into the soundtracks of our lives which awaken so many memories in us… When I listen Hotel California by the Eagles, I see myself in my teenage bedroom, sliding the album onto my turntable. I hope this magic will work for your readers too.
What does this book and your radio broadcasts on RTL and RTL2 reveal about you?
My pleasure of passing on, surely inherited from my mother, a teacher!
The music that makes you happy in the morning?
stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, an eight-minute piece calmly pulling us from the limbo of sleep, before exploding. It’s time to get out of bed!
The album you could listen to a hundred times?
The Marquesas, by Jacques Brel, sublime in beauty.
Which beauty will save the world?
Love. Without expecting anything in return. By sacrificing himself to save humanity, Jesus is its best incarnation.
The person who matters most in your family?
My big sister, Corine, insurance agent near Prignac-et-Marcamps, our Gironde family cradle. It connects me to “real life”.
Proust’s Madeleine from your childhood?
The thick steak cooked in the fireplace, at my maternal grandmother’s house, during Saturday dinners.
Genes that you are happy to have inherited?
The altruism and generosity of Max, my late father, local left-wing elected official. He kissed people literally and figuratively.
A solidarity initiative in which you are involved?
For ten years, I have sponsored the festival for the benefit of firefighter orphans in Talence.
Pope Francis grants you an audience. What question is burning on your lips?
My first instinct would be to listen to it. Perhaps he could tell me about his work to modernize the Church?
We offer you immortality, do you sign?
I believe in that of the soul. A question that the writer Marc Dugain addresses in his anticipation novel Transparency, which marked me.
