TV films and series, essential in the television landscape, are rewarded in France by a handful of festivals. Including the Fiction Festival, which has been held in September in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) for more than twenty-five years. On the program for the five days of celebration for the 15,000 festival-goers: meetings, star parades, signing sessions, and, of course, free preview screenings.

This year, more than forty French and Francophone works were screened to the public and professionals. Some, outside of competition, were an event: a dive at the beginning of the 20th century with Montmartre, a political immersion with The Deal (two series respectively since broadcast on TF1 and Arte) or even a contemporary adaptation of Belphegor (expected in December on HBO Max, then early 2026 on M6).

Thirty-two productions were in the running. Two juries – one dedicated to the French competition, the other to the international French-speaking competition – had to decide between these productions of varied genres, durations and subjects. Soon on your screens, or to watch next year, here are our favorites among the thirteen series which won the sixteen awards.
