Pope’s trip to Corsica: the official program

On the occasion of the closing of a congress on popular religiosity in the Mediterranean, the Sovereign Pontiff will visit the Isle of Beauty, less than 300 km from Rome (Italy). A great first for François.

Sunday December 15, 2024 Rome – Ajaccio – Rome

07:45 – Departure by plane from Rome – Fiumicino International Airport (Italy) to Ajaccio (Corsica).

9:00 a.m. – Arrival at Ajaccio International Airport and official welcome by the French authorities.

10:15 a.m. – Concluding session of the Congress “Popular religiosity in the Mediterranean” at the Ajaccio Convention and Exhibition Center – Address by the Holy Father.

11:20 a.m. – Angelus prayer with bishops, priests, deacons, consecrated persons and seminarians in Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral – Address by the Holy Father.

3:30 p.m. – Holy Mass on the Place d’Austerlitz (“U Casone”) – Homily of the Holy Father.

5:30 p.m. – Meeting of the Pope with the President of the Republic at Ajaccio International Airport

6:00 p.m. – Departure ceremony

6:15 p.m. – Departure by plane from Ajaccio International Airport for Rome (Italy)

7:05 p.m. – Arrival at Rome – Fiumicino International Airport (Italy)
