The anthem of Frat 2025 revealed

At the first notes, it looks like listening to a contemporary pop song as there are dozens of them on the air. But by holding out the words, it is not. “In the hollow of the rock” is the anthem that the approximately 13,500 young people expected in Lourdes from April 12 to 17 for the Frat, an event bringing together the high school students of Île-de-France.

Be Witnessthe pop-louange group that composed it was already at the origin of that of the 2023 edition “do not be afraid”. “The Frat is a timeless moment, being able to animate praise is a crazy privilege,” confides enthusiastic Clément Bluteau, 28, co-founder of the group he wears with Timothée Masurel and Pauline Beuel.

Biblical words

On a Latin and rhythmic sound, the words meet the theme chosen this year: “in the hollow of the rock”. A double biblical reference: to the book of the exodus first, where God reveals his glory to Moses sheltered in a rock (ex 33, 19-23). In the first book of kings then, in which the prophet Elie, chased by Queen Jézabel and desperate not to be listened to, discovers the presence of God in the lightness of a breeze (1r 1, 19). “We have received this theme as a roadmap, and meditated it for several months, with its biblical references, to propose a song that turns to God” exhibits Clément Bluteau, “we see in this type of event an issue of conversion for all these young people, we thought this anthem as a declaration made to God.”

Pop to evangelize

The rhythm is catchy, the lyrics simple, and the video clip alternates images of young singers with all smiles under the Mediterranean sun and shore scenes at Frat. With these codes of contemporary music, we are far from the classic liturgical song. At the risk of eluding the sacred? “We have chosen the Pop register, because it was by discovering praise pop that we made a turn in faith,” replies Clément, “music is a powerful evangelization channel, and pop testifies that God is very current”.
