The Pilgrimage Program of Assumption 2025

For the national pilgrimage of August 15, nearly 7,000 pilgrims are expected to celebrate the Assumption, a marial feast that commemorates the rise in the sky of the Virgin Mary. This edition is all the special: it is part of a jubilee year, which only occurs every 25 years. An invitation to renew his faith, to live mercy, and to engage in works of charity.

The pilgrimage will be chaired by an assumptionist bishop, Mgr Benoît Gschwind, appointed in 2023 at the head of the diocese of Pamiers. A historical first for this congregation (owner of the Bayard group and publisher of the pilgrim) founded in 1845 by Father Emmanuel d’Alzon, in a momentum of spiritual, intellectual and social renewal.

The pilgrimage of Lourdes created, in 1873 by the assumptionists, had the intention of reviving popular faith and Christian hope. This year, the theme chosen – “Look at the star” – invites you to turn your eyes to Marie, a star in the night, and call for hope.
