Under the stars Referred to the famous “critical zone”, this external film of our planet, a place of chemical interactions between air, water and rocks. I wanted to represent it in a wonderful form and thus express my fascination for terrestrial biodiversity.

What does this theme reveal?

My desire to pay tribute to the living and my enchantment in front of our planet. In this book, I focus on the non -human living, my way of raising public awareness of environmental protection.

Your last artistic crush?

The pictorial work of Peter Fign which evokes that of Van Gogh. His canvases are filled with cultural references and, under an apparent facility, we guess a powerful talent.

The work you could reread a hundred times?

I never tire of Tolstoy’s work! I also like the novel by João Guimarães Rosa, Diadorim long monologue of an old Brazilian land owner telling his youth, at the end of the 19th century.

Your Madeleine de Proust?

A oak in the Pyrenean forest of my childhood. Very lonely, I spent a lot of time in this tree after my days at school. I knew each branch. My two brothers also each had their oak.

A united initiative that touched you?

The wave of support in favor of Paul Watson, the anti -hooking activist with the whale held in Greenland for five months and released on December 17.

We offer you an hour of silence. What are you doing?

I wouldn’t want to, because I like to find me above all in nature. Now there is no more noisy than nature! Polluted by the urban din, we become unexpected to the rustles of the forests or the ocean.

You have three days, a backpack and no car. Where are you going?

My life is to leave and come back without precise destination. Japan, Mongolia, Nigerian desert … I would go where my heart is wearing me with an intact fascination.

A good plan to reconnect to nature?

I move on foot, on horseback or in a sailboat to feel “biodiversity” in this world. Slowness is the ideal mode to reach the essentials and reconnect to the living.
