“What is Christmas for you? » the poem by Michel and Marie-Bernarde
Christmas
“On vacation, in winter, there is a moment,
Which remains wonderful for all children’s hearts,
It is Christmas, Jesus Christ, the child God, who is born,
Who comes to meet us in our humanity.
Why celebrate Christmas, in these troubled moments,
In a world that seems ever more shaken?
A moment for peace, reconciliation,
A hope that is reborn for all Nations!
Christmas is about sharing, it’s also about forgiving,
Knowing how to set out as the shepherds did,
Together towards the Light, towards the Star of our Lives,
And turn confidently every day to Mary.
It is the donkey and the ox that warm the Child-King,
It was Joseph protector who knew how to keep the faith,
It’s the celebration, the one for the children,
It is the living nativity scene and all its extras.
It’s Midnight Mass, family happiness,
“ Angels in our countryside », the candles that shine,
The High Mass with the Great Organs or with the guitars,
The choir and the voices which start without delay.
Christmas is about taking a step towards someone else who is alone,
Breaking the solitude of a neighbor, of an ancestor,
Hope is the light that pushes us to believe,
That life can be reborn in the night, in the dark.
Christmas is the horizon, for those who flee the country,
Who can marvel, with amazed face,
Arms raised to the sky imitating Ravi,
Towards the luminous star adoring Jesus Christ. »
Great progress towards Christmas!
