5 decorations to make with your children
1 – Easter patterns in Punch Needle
Punch Needle is an easy-to-master relief embroidery technique that requires no sewing or traditional embroidery skills. Accessible from 5 years old and safe for the fingers, it is practiced using a punch needle also called “magic needles” because of their ease of use. The creations obtained with the Punch Needle evoke the texture of tufted carpets, thus offering a unique aesthetic. Whether to make small paintings, embellish a cushion cover or simply create decorative shapes, the possibilities are endless. Why not try making Easter eggs? Their rounded outline lends itself perfectly to exercise, ideal for learning the technique. Many kits including needle, thread, canvas, drum, etc. are available in craft stores.
- Lay your canvas flat and draw the pattern with a pen. Make sure to center it.
- Then place your drum.
- Take your spool and pull the thread out without cutting.
- Grab your needle and slide the thread through the cat.
- Pull the thread into the slot at the bottom of the needle handle. You should get a taut wire.
- Hold your needle facing the drum and stitch by inserting the entire length of the needle into the canvas.
- Press then raise, repeat the gesture to create, you just have to follow your pattern.
- Stitch in stitches of approximately 1 cm.
- When you bring out the needle, be careful not to bring it all the way out but to leave the tip in the canvas. This could undo your stitches.

2 – An eggshell centerpiece
This zero waste tip consists of recycling your eggshells to transform them into vases.
- Start by washing your eggs, then crack just the top of the shell. The opening should not be too deep.
- On a round wooden tray or on a disc cut from cardboard (and painted according to the desired result), arrange your shells in a circle.
- Adjust your circle and if it suits you, move on to gluing.
- Using a glue or glue gun, glue the bottom of your eggs to the chosen support. For greater stability, attach the shells together. It's almost over already!
- Then garnish the shells with garden or freshly cut flowers. Remember to pour a little water into the shells. You can opt for dried flowers so that your table wreath will last longer.
