Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage, and defend us from all evil.

Glorious Saint Joseph, husband of Mary, grant us your paternal protection, we implore you through the Heart of Jesus Christ.

O you whose power extends to all our necessities and knows how to make the most impossible things possible for us, open your fatherly eyes to the interests of your children.

In the embarrassment and pain that presses us, we turn to you with confidence.

Deign to take under your charitable leadership this important and difficult matter, the cause of our concern.

Let its happy outcome be for the glory of God and contribute to the good of those who want to serve him faithfully.

The prayer of Pope John Paul II

Saint Joseph, with you, for you, we bless the Lord.

He chose you above all men to be the chaste husband of Mary, the one who stands on the threshold of the mystery of her divine motherhood, and who, after her, welcomes her in faith as the work of the Holy Spirit.

You gave Jesus legal paternity linked to the lineage of David. You constantly watched over the Mother and the Child with affectionate concern, to ensure their lives and enable them to fulfill their destiny.

The Savior Jesus deigned to submit to you as a father, during his childhood and adolescence, and receive from you the learning of human life, while you shared his life in adoration of his mystery.

You stay with him. Continue to protect the entire Church, the family that was born from the salvation of Jesus. Specially protect this Canadian people who have placed themselves under your patronage. Help him in turn to approach the mystery of Christ in the dispositions of faith, submission and love that were yours.

Look at the spiritual and material needs of those who resort to your intercession, in particular of families and the poor of all poverty; through you, they are sure to join the maternal gaze of Mary and the hand of Jesus who helps them.
