advice from Muriel Lacroix-Pringarbe
The point of view of Muriel Lavroix-Pringarbe, committed entrepreneur
Dear Vincent and Florence, a derogatory comment – just one – on the sound insulation of the rooms seems likely to cause your project to fail. Please note that you have the right to reply on the site through which these hosts booked (Gîtes de France, Tourist office, Airbnb, etc.). Practice giving an explanation that will be read by other customers. Also encourage your new hosts to leave a good review if they are satisfied, because this will “crush” the one that affects you. If this soundproofing problem exists, quickly provide a solution to prevent several comments to the same effect from distracting your future customers. Changing the arrangement of the furniture can be enough, avoiding that the two headboards are on either side of the same wall. Otherwise, consider “silent headboards”, very effective and inexpensive. Finally, if necessary, you can add acoustic panels which will increase the insulation.
Above all, it is about putting things into perspective: such a comment which always hurts and seems to threaten the future is just a pitfall in the life of a business leader. Good luck to both of you and uplifting hearts!
