Bambi
by Michel Fessler

From 6 years old. 1:17 a.m. In theaters.

“In every living being on Earth, there is a heart that beats in time with this precious music that nature sends back to us,” says filmmaker Michel Fessler in the foreword to this new version of Bambiwhich features animals in the wild.

The fawns, deer, but also deer, crows, rabbits and raccoons were filmed within the confines of Animal Contact, an animal park specializing in the filming of films, including those of Nicolas Vanier and Luc Besson. Rustling wings, hooting of the owl, blowing of the wind: here we are embarked on a story where the daily life of the animals is magnified by the movements of the cameras which follow them closely.

The sound work, also very sophisticated, contributes greatly to the immersion. The sweet voice of singer Mylène Farmer accompanies this forest epic which will charm young and old alike. And for those who want to understand how this film was made, a very informative educational file can be downloaded for free.
