Arabic Remedy for Constipation I Natural Solution

Are you looking for a Arabic remedy for constipation ? You are in the right place. There Arab-Muslim medicine offers many natural remedies For relieve transit problems.

Discover with us the recommendations of the prophetic medicine For treat constipation…

Prophetic medicine

When we talk about Arabic medicine, we are actually often referring to prophetic medicine. Indeed, the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet ‘alayhi salat wa salam is full of ahadith concerning health. Arab medicine was also one of the most advanced in the world, in his time and even after him. We can cite in particular reference works by Muslim doctors such as Ibn Sina and his Canon of Medicine.

The authentic Prophetic Medicine of Ibn Al Qayyim is also a valuable resource for the daily health of Muslims.

Above all, the Messenger of Allah informed us of a remedy for all ills without exception. This remedy is none other than hijama. This cupping therapy is the best form of care that Allah has made available to us:

According to Samoura Ibn Joundoub (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (may Allah’s prayer and His salvation be upon him) said: “The best thing with which you have taken care of yourself is the hijama”.

Reported by Al Hakim and authenticated by Sheikh Albani in the Silsila Sahiha No. 1053.

Hijama is therefore a perfectly feasible option to cure and relieve constipation. It will stimulate transit and, therefore, facilitate the evacuation of stools.

Furthermore, the Messenger of Allah ‘alayhi salat wa salam said:

“The black seed is a cure for all illnesses, except for sam. (Sat, says Ibn Shihab, is death). » Sahih al-Bukhari 5688.

The black seed is nigella or habba sawda/saouda in Arabic. It is also known under the name black cumin, habbat al baraka or even sanouj. Thus, to treat constipation, a course of quality black seed oil is possible.

Also worth discovering: habbat al moulouk, the purgative seed from Yemen.

Arabic remedy for constipation: senna leaves

THE senna Or sana makki is a very powerful natural laxative. It is also mentioned in the Sunnah, like nigella, as an effective remedy. Well known in the world of Arab-Muslim pharmacopoeia. This is a shrub whose leaves have extremely effective laxative properties!

In fact, the latter drain the digestive tract. In herbal medicine, they are used in the form of herbal teas or decoctions. In this regard, Ibn Al Qayyim (whom we cited previously) advises taking it as a hot infusion rather than crushed.

Senna leaves are hydrophilic, in other words, they “love water.” This particularity has the advantage of softening the stools and therefore facilitating their expulsion.

Furthermore, sana mekki promotes intestinal peristalsis. In short, it helps in the contraction of muscles which allow food to be moved and broken down. Consequently, by catalyzing the movements of the colon, they can descend more quickly in order to be evacuated.

In summary, senna acts as a real purgative by stimulating transit and making stools softer. However, its use is subject to some precautions.

For good reason, its effectiveness is such that it should not be abused. Otherwise it will make the intestines “lazy”, or even irritate them.

Thus, we will consume senna leaves over a short period (i.e. a few days), and not over the long term. Also be careful of overdose, only a few leaves are needed to prepare an infusion.

To see their laxative effect, one cup per day will be more than enough.

Although this remedy for constipation is natural, it is not suitable for everyone. Also, people suffering from conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome or Crohn’s disease should avoid it.

In all cases, seeking the advice of the attending physician before starting a treatment is always preferable.

Arabic remedy for constipation: sanut

According to Abdallah Ibn Umm Hiram, the Prophet ‘alayhi salat wa salam said:

“Use senna and as-sanut which are a cure for all illnesses except as-sam.” As-Sahiha, No. 1798.

In the book on prophetic medicine by Ibn Al Qayyim, the sanut cited here is the subject of some discrepancies. Indeed, there are 8 opinions regarding its translation and its meaning. It could be:

  • of honey ;
  • rancid butter extract;
  • of a grain similar to cumin;
  • caraway;
  • green anise;
  • dill;
  • date;
  • of a preparation of honey preserved in rancid butter.

In the event that sanut is a seed like cumin, caraway, green anise or dill:

  1. Get a cup.
  2. Add a large tablespoon of seeds of your choice.
  3. Pour lukewarm (not boiling) water over it.
  4. Leave to infuse for about fifteen minutes.
  5. Sweeten your anti-constipation herbal tea with one or two spoons of natural honey.
  6. Drink your infusion in the evening, at bedtime. In case of severe constipation, a second cup is possible.

You have more “probabilities” of finding the right one sanut using a mixture of all the seeds mentioned! It turns out that the ready-made blends for special breastfeeding herbal teas contain exactly the right seeds…

Plus, thanks to honey, you add another remedy to the list! Indeed, the digestive virtues of natural honey no longer need to be demonstrated. It is a major ally, with studies to support it, against a plethora of transit disorders, namely constipation, gas, etc.

Finally, snack on some dates to accompany your infusion will only do you good. These contain an impressive amount of fiber which will inevitably improve your transit and, therefore, relieve constipation.

Finally, it is true that constipation can also be a symptom of another illness. It is therefore essential to consult if this becomes recurrent.
