“I dreamed of traveling the world”
In 2005, you launched Exclusive survey. So what motivates you?
I was 46 years old. I dreamed of traveling the world, of being a salaried stroller. I started this project thinking we were going to have ten shows.
What does this longevity reveal about you?
My traveling side but also my patience and my courage, which I have been able to experience thanks to the motivated teams with whom I work.
We were sometimes faced with difficult situations.
A character you dream of playing?
Marco Polo, in his wanderings on the Silk Road.
Your latest artistic crush?
I have just returned from Sicily. There I discovered the town of Scicli which in itself is a work of art. A balcony suspended above a rocky landscape.
Music that makes you happy?
Neil Young, in the evening. The Rolling Stones in the morning.
The film you could watch a hundred times?
The important thing is to love by Polish director Andrzej Zulawski, with Romy Schneider.
The person who meant the most in your family?
My mother, a model of balance, kindness, resilience.
A good plan to reconnect with nature? A horseback ride in the forest of Chantilly (Oise).
A gesture of happy sobriety? Empty my closets of the jeans and shoes that I used in the reports. But I’m having trouble. I’m a fetishist.
“Beauty will save the world”… Yes, but which one? Human fraternity could reconcile men. I try to find it in the people I meet.
We are equal in the face of grief and suffering.
An inspired place where you like to take refuge? The basilica of Vézelay, in Yonne. A place magnified by Jules Roy, a writer I admire.
Do you have a guardian angel on your shoulder? This is what my grandmother, who was a Buddhist, believed. I experienced very dangerous situations. As during the American offensive in Mosul, during the war in Iraq. With my cameraman, we left behind the tanks without taking the time to put on a bulletproof vest.
You are offered eternal life. Do you sign? Not sure. After a while, we must become tired of the human condition.
But a reincarnation, perhaps…
