prayer, liturgy and actions to protect the planet

1. Meditate on peace with creation

This year, the ecumenical time for creation has the theme of the link between the protection of the planet and promotion of peace, from the text of Isaiah 32, 14-18.

You can join or organize a biblical workshop, an ecumenical prayer time starting from the many resources offered by the site Egliseverte.org. Posters are easy to create from the downloadable guide on the Seasonofcreation.org/fr/ressources website

2. Adapt the liturgy

During this month, encourage your priest to celebrate mass for the safeguarding of creation, integrated into the Roman Missal since July, or your pastor to refer to creation in his homily and the choice of songs. The penitential act can be an opportunity to express repentance for damage to the environment.

Intentions related to the care of creation can color universal prayer. Finally, do not hesitate to offer an outdoor celebration, with a time of silence and contemplation.

3. Take his family

Until October 4, the Congregation of the Jesuits offers families a fun journey to live at home to take better care of creation. Each week, they receive by email a prayer, a testimony of engagement and a concrete challenge to progress in ecological conversion.

4. Support a concrete action

Why not offer a collection to support an association working on climate justice or a specific project such as restoring wetlands? This time can also be an opportunity to join the “Voyage to COP30” proposed by the movement Laudato if ‘ To weigh in the results of the large climate summit at the end of 2025 in Brazil.
