1. “A father”, by Jean-Louis Tripp
Ed. Casterman, 360 p. ; € 28.
Is it the age or the time that wants this? Three years after his very successful Little brother, Who raised the veil on his work of mourning, a teenager, after the accidental death of his younger brother, the author of the famous series General store brilliantly continues its family introspection.
This time, as the title of the album, Jean-Louis Tripp chooses to focus on his father and their relationship, solely indicates over the years.
By his very identifiable drawing with a sepia tone, he succeeds in translating, through his experience of Baby-Baomer, a questioning that can spring in each of us-especially when the interested party is no longer there: basically, who was my father? Why did he make these choices? Did he really love me?
Far from a simple nostalgic sum, this album makes us travel, laugh, think, with anecdotes and skillfully distilled feelings.
