should we go alone or in a group?
It all depends on the path chosen, and the context of your journey. On the paths of Saint-Jacques, for example, you should not be afraid to go alone, if that is your wish. Because if you choose a popular route and season, you will never have to suffer from loneliness….
On the other hand, if your destination is more distant (Jerusalem, for example), the choice of a solitary walk must be carefully considered. This question is addressed in the numerous interviews with pilgrims published on our site.
As for groups, the question again depends on the destination. But on busy paths, during the high season, it is not recommended to travel in large groups, unless you plan specific logistics (tents or hotels). For obvious reasons, small lodges which only have a few places cannot be fully mobilized for a single group!
