These were rediscovered in 1996 on the ribbed ceiling of the choir and on the glory arch which separates it from the nave. The pretty church itself, mixing Romanesque and Gothic style, deserves attention. It still retains its 16th century herringbone framework. “We keep the church open during the day, because we have a lot of traffic: we are at the crossroads of several hiking trails,” explains Françoise Barthoulot, who provides visitors with leaflets on heritage. From now on, she wants to develop concerts in the building whose acoustics are excellent “to encourage fundraising”. The Pilgrim Prize for Transmission and Sharing presented with the Foundation The preservation of French art is for her “an honor” and an encouragement to action.
