“A popular fervor surrounds the Games”
BFM Régions cultivates proximity. What motivates you at the moment?
The Olympic torch relay. Thus, on July 2, actor Dany Boon will carry the flame and BFM Grand Lille will broadcast the event. From July 14, in Île-de-France, we will be able to follow it until the opening ceremony. Everywhere, we discover a great popular fervor.
What will be the other regional events this summer?
Every day at 5:45 p.m. in Summer at our placeon the 10 antennas of the network, a team of journalists goes to a festival or a place of tourist interest. Here again, we try to be as close as possible to the French. Six million of them follow us.
The place that inspires you?
The stations I frequent to reach the various editorial offices of local channels. Between Paris and Lille as in Marseille and Nice, in these places of passage and exchange which each have their own history, watching people inspires me.
A quality that you will be proud to pass on to your children?
Openness to others and their differences. A quality which, it seems to me, is too often lost in the busy world in which we live.
A gesture of happy sobriety?
Buy less clothes! On the BFM Régions channels, a program relays happy sobriety initiatives every Monday. And we call on viewers to share this gesture.
Pope Francis grants you an audience. What question is burning on your lips?
I would like to know if he cried in the room of tears (name of the small chapel where the newly elected pope isolates himself, Editor’s note) where he retired after his election, becoming aware of his office. I was a journalist at Vatican Radio!
You are offered an hour of silence. What do you do with it?
I close my eyes and let my thoughts go. But I never find myself in silence!
You are offered immortality. Do you sign?
Especially not. Place for young people! At some point, I will have served my time. I find that each age has its pleasures, its advantages and its disadvantages. And that it is one of the joys that life has in store for us.
