“Little things calm me down”
You play, in the cinema, Clémence, in A golden girl. Make our mouths water…
It’s a romantic comedy with two characters who are off base: Clémence, who doesn’t have self-confidence, and Paul, who is so demanding of others that he has withdrawn into himself. Their meeting will do them good.
What does this role reveal about you?
Clémence looks like me. I wasn’t good at school and people were worried about my future. I am left with a lack of confidence in many little things.
The book you could reread a hundred times?
All books by Justine Lévy.
A personality that you would dream of embodying?
In the cinema, it would be a lot of fun for me to play a great diva. In the theater, I am attracted to the plays of Tennessee Williams, Jean-Luc Lagarce and Feydeau, which I am currently performing.
A person who was important in your family?
Two ! My grandmothers. One was a little offbeat, fascinated by the world of cinema, so proud when I played in my first film. The other was a force of nature who, until the age of 99, took the RER and drank a small whiskey every day while smoking a cigarette. A guilty pleasure? Every January I try to do the Sugar January, by stopping sugar, but I’m really struggling. I love cakes and chocolate so much.
We give you three days, a backpack, no car. Where are you going?
In Sainte-Maxime, in the Var. There is the sea, the flowers, the sun… And Tropezian tarts!
A gesture of happy sobriety?
It would be good if we could get rid of what weighs us down and rejoice in the little things: watching the rain or a ray of sunshine, giving seeds to the birds… It calms me down.
A solidarity initiative that touched you?
In February, at the Alpe d’Huez Festival, I was interviewed by journalists from Papotin, who have autism spectrum disorders. Faced with them, we let go, we confide things that we wouldn’t say elsewhere… I found that very powerful.
Jesus for you, is it?
It remains a little vague… But when I visited the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, I was very touched by the visitors’ gestures of piety.
