What does this new program reveal from you?

That I always want to talk to my audience! At 79, my joy of singing is intact. On stage, I always accompany myself on the piano and I have the feeling that my instrument breathes with me and that I am free from everything.

Chopin, for whom I have crazy admiration. I would have dreamed of listening to him to play!

An object that crosses generations in your family?

My mother’s engagement ring which I inherited when I died when I was 23 years old. This lucky holder has never left my finger. When I sing on stage, the spotlight is reflected in its diamonds and I see all the small lights dance in the room. It is like a sign of the presence of my mother who then sings with me.

A talent you inherited?

The sense of music. My father played the violin, my grandparents made chamber music and Jeanne, my mother, played very well with the piano. One of my brothers too composes songs.

The guardian angel on your shoulder?

There are many of them! I believe in the survival of the soul after death and influence on our lives of our dear missing. Each prayer is a momentum that allows me to ask them for protections and, of course, to thank the sky for what I receive on a daily basis.

I pray and listen to classical music. Raised in the Catholic religion, I no longer practice. But the spiritual dimension of life interests me. Music connects me to the divine. Meditating in music is savoring the strength of the moment.
