Pray to Saint Michael
He is considered the most powerful and beautiful of all the angels in heaven. The Archangel Michael, whose name in Hebrew means “Who is like God”, is celebrated by the Church on September 29. Did you know that you could dedicate your family to him?
(according to the prayer of Pope Leo XIII)
“Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our help against the malice and snares of the devil.
Be our help against evil
May God exercise his power over him, may he give us the strength to bear witness to our faith; we ask it in supplication. And you, Prince of the militia of Heaven, armed with the strength of God, repel Satan and the others into Hell evil spirits who roam the world to destroy souls. Amen. »
Consecration
“Saint Michael the Archangel, I devote myself to you.
I place myself, my family and everything that belongs to me under your powerful protection.
Make the fervor grow in my heart and remember that from this day on, I am under your protection.
Obtain for me the grace to love with all my heart: God, my Father, Jesus, my Savior, the Holy Spirit, my Sanifier, and Mary, my sweet Mother.
Amen.”
Byzantine liturgy
“We take refuge with confidence in the shadow of your holy wings, O Michael, heavenly spirit!
Keep us and watch over us throughout our lives; and at the hour of our death, O Archangel, come to the aid of us all, O you who are good.
Prince of the heavenly hosts, we ask you, despite our unworthiness, to keep us by your prayers in the shadow of your wings, under the protection of your spiritual glory, you who see that we prostrate ourselves before you crying out with fervor: deliver – us from dangers, O leader of the celestial armies!”
Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
(by placing a candle in front of his statue)
“Archangel Saint Michael, who stands constantly before God, unite our prayer to that of all the angels. May the flame of this candle be our joy in the immense thanksgiving that ascends to the Father.
Look at us and give us to see the beauty, the luminosity of our lives.
Give us to see the beautiful, the luminous in our lives.
What makes us suffer, soften it and make it possible one day for us to love in truth.
May this offered flame shine for us before God Father, Son and Spirit.
Saint Michael, pray to the Lord for us.”
