“We need to talk” is an original initiative. His goal? Offer two people with divergent opinions the opportunity to meet for two hours, on November 22, 2025, for a respectful conversation, without the challenge of convincing, but with the desire to understand each other.
In 2024, the first French edition of “We need to speak” was a great success: among the 6,400 participants, 95% wanted to repeat the experience.
Speaking to understand yourself better: a valuable approach
What if you talked about it to your family, your children, your grandchildren? This experience, in the service of living together, is far from trivial. It echoes scientific studies showing that speaking for two hours with someone who does not think like us contributes to radically reducing (by 77%) emotional polarization, that is to say negative feelings towards those who are perceived as the opposing camp. At a time when we are constantly being told that we are a fractured society, this is a great way to help reconnect citizens.
