The Croire au Cinéma prize rewards the animated film “Forbidden to Dogs and Italians”
This work traces the director’s family history: that of peasants from Piedmont who came to work on construction sites in France and Switzerland. According to the jury, chaired by director Dominik Moll, the award-winning film “subtly echoes current issues such as immigration, labor exploitation, “ordinary” racism, but also the importance of solidarity and family ties. Produced in stop-motion (volume animation technique) and featuring plasticine characters, the atmosphere of this film is of great poetry.
The Believing in Cinema prize will be presented in public to director Alain Ughetto, in the presence of the jury and the film team, on Tuesday March 12 at 8:15 p.m., at the Les 7 Parnassiens cinema, Paris 14th.
