5 years of images at the heart of a titanic construction site
Saving Notre Dame made us better
At a time when Notre-Dame de Paris is reopening its doors, when the whole world is preparing to rediscover its beauty, we are offering you the work of our editorial staff. Five years of continuous presence on the site of its rebirth.
To document and share all the stages of the awakening of the Lady of Stone, our weekly has worked tirelessly. He brought together his best writing, image, reporting, production, communication and marketing talents for our special editions. This exceptional mobilization of our newspaper was rewarded with the Grand Prix Strategies for Media Innovation 2022. A source of pride for our entire team.
It’s no secret that Paris Cathedral brings people together and encourages people to surpass themselves. Firefighters, project managers, companions, restorers, craftsmen, scientists, artists, donors… journalists, all the actors who mobilized at his bedside say “we” to bear witness to his rescue. None speak in the first person. Returning Notre-Dame to those who love her is first and foremost a fraternal and collective adventure.
Our Lady brought us together. Attending her has made us grow, in expertise, in influence, in humanity. Did we save Notre Dame, or was it the cathedral that saved us? By helping him to be reborn, we all became better people. And now that we have straightened out with her, let us not forget the lesson of the past. Like the beings we love, stones are not eternal, they constantly require our care and vigilance. It is not a renovated museum that we find, it is a treasure of spirituality that is returned to us.
Let us cherish Our Lady, so fragile and so strong at the same time, let us never stop preserving her. Each in our own way, with our faith in God, in humanity or in beauty, let us know how to keep it alive. Together!
