“I offer dirty dishes to the Pope”
Loyal to Top Chef since 2010, the host presents the 15th season of the culinary program on M6. An anniversary edition that promises to be tasty.
Introduce us to the new season of Top Chef…
For its 15th anniversary, the show promises an event season with revisited tests and a jury. Fifteen starred chefs will be present, not counting the arrival of 50 former candidates joined during the competition by one of the greatest chefs, Pierre Gagnaire.
You have hosted this program since the beginning, what does it reveal about you?
My taste for cooking. He gave me the audacity to request the broadcast from the management of M6. I can talk about it for hours. Cooking is one of the rare subjects on which men and women agree very easily.
A quality that you would be proud to pass on to your daughter?
My hard work that I inherited from my Polish grandparents, who emigrated to France in the 1920s. They knew that they had to redouble their efforts to get by, and pass on this ethic to their children who will do so. know in turn to their descendants.
The object that crosses generations in your family?
My grandmother’s china. I like the idea of the whole family using these dishes.
What action will save the world?
Home. I see it while hosting the adventure show Beijing Express. Everywhere on Earth, despite conflicts, people are always ready to help their neighbors.
Pope Francis invites himself to your table, what are you preparing for him?
Pâté en croute, Bresse poultry and floating island! I wouldn’t want him to be guilty of the sin of gluttony, but I would like to take him to the terrace of a bistro to taste some dirty dishes. Beyond gastronomy, this is what still represents French tradition today.
A place where you like to take refuge?
Large spaces such as the sea and the desert inspire me with a feeling of modesty. There, I realize that, far from the shore, I am very little.
We offer you an hour of silence, what do you do with it?
I’m going to walk on the customs officers’ path in the Alpes-Maritimes. I really like the idea of setting out, I understand the pilgrims.
We offer you immortality, do you sign?
Yes. I bet I won’t be bored. Since this has been the case for fifty-six years!
